It Takes a Village Youth Facility

This project supports the development of a new facility for It Takes a Village to Help Our Children, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Crisfield, Maryland.
The organization provides youth-focused academic, recreational, and enrichment programs serving more than 200 at-risk children ages 4–17 annually.
Operating as a 21st Century Community Learning Center and the community’s only Monday–Friday afterschool program, the new building will enhance its ability to deliver afterschool, summer, and college and career readiness programs that promote the spiritual, social, and educational development of local youth.

Funding Sources: City of Crisfield sponsored Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Multiple funding sources through It Takes a Village to Help Our Children, Inc including the Weinberg Foundation, Governor's Office, Rural Maryland Council, Somerset County, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and donations from citizens and businesses.
