About

Crisfield's Façade Improvement Grant Program, funded through Maryland's Department of Housing and Community Development, helps local businesses enhance their commercial properties. Eligible improvements include signage, driveways, energy-efficient doors and windows, roofs, awnings, and more. The City also waives permit fees for all grant awardees.

The program is administered by the Façade Review Committee with oversight from City staff.  As of March 2026, 18 businesses have benefited from this program.   To receive updates on funding availability, please email Grant Assistant Jackie Collins at jcollins@crisfieldcityhall.com.

FY 2024 Business Façade Program - $75,000
 

  • Description: Commercial façade improvement grants supporting exterior upgrades such as signage, driveways/drive-thrus, energy-efficient doors and windows, roofs, awnings, and other business-facing enhancements; City permit fees are waived for participating businesses.

  • Project Size: Funds remaining for one business at $10,000

  • Funding Sources: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)

  • Status: Awarded; launch of remaining funds anticipated spring 2026

  • Estimated Completion Date: Late 2026
